北方有青草？北方大爱
in the Northland there is fresh grass and great love
北方有你太多太多的魂牵梦绕
in the Northland you have so much memory lost
北方有葵花北方有娇娘
in a reverie；in the Northland there are sunflowers and lovely maidens
北方有你16岁以前
and those romantic places where
和你心灵深处的女孩
you and your girl cherished in your innermost heart
整夜整夜风流的地方
and have stayed together all night long.
北方的长白山？双鸭山
The Long White Mountains and the Double-Duck Mountains
奶头山
and the Nipple Mountains in the Northland
真的很白很白很纯洁
are really very white and so pure；
你浓浓的须眉一见钟情的眼神
while you are blessed with bushy eyebrows and beard，
真的很黑很黑很明亮
and so dark and bright glances that one will fall in love with you
at the first sight.
北方有黑瞎子岛？有珍宝岛
There are Black Bear Island，Treasure Island，
有葫芦岛？
and Gourd Island in the Northland，
所以你喝红酒？喝白酒？喝鸡尾巴酒
so when you are drinking red wine，white
喝马尿？喝猫尿时
spirit，cocktail，tasting like the urine of a horse or cat，
腰间总喜欢捌着个摇摇晃晃的油葫芦
you like wearing a dangling gourd upon your hip.
北方有黑龙江？松花江？
In the Northland there is the Amur River，the Songhua River
牡丹江？江水真的很浩荡很清澈
and Mudanjiang，whose waters are all really vast
很凉很凉
and mighty，so fair and so cool.
有人说要是把时光前移100年
Someone says that if time was rolled back a hundred years，
你应该是出没于这片白山黑水的刀客
you would have been a swordsman or a bandit
响马？是一条吃大块肉喝大碗酒的
haunting among the white mountains and black rivers，
满脸长着闹腮胡子的关东汉子
or a Northeast fellow with thick whiskers on his face.
有人说要是把时光前移100年
someone say that if time returned to a hundred years ago，
你应该是出没于这黑水白山间的
you would have been a hunter，slayer or a killer
抗着猎枪打豺狼的穿老林子住小木屋
haunting about among the white mountains and black rivers.

the wolves between the ancient forest and the log cabin.
其实你每天都可以坐南朝北自相思的
Actually every day you can just face north and muse

Just in an instant
天府就变成了地狱
the heaven-like land turns into a Hell.
对活着的人来说
for the living
这就是地狱
it is truly a Hell，
一个充满惊恐、慌张
a Hell filled with
不知所措的地狱
terror，panic and puzzlement，
一个疮痍满目
a Hell Everywhere a scene of devastation meets the eye，
惨不忍睹的地狱
so horrible that one could hardly bear to look at it
只一瞬
just in a flash
天府就变成了天堂
the heaven-like land changes into a real Heaven
对逝去的人来说
for the Deceased
这就是天堂
this is really a Heaven
一个只有灵魂飘荡
a Heaven where
只有灵魂飘荡的
only the spirits wander

and the spirits just wander.
今夜我要和废墟下？
